This thing got panned, and there were problems with one of the orgainisers.

If you go to Ribnet.com ( or co.uk can't remember) the whole sorry story is over there.

I think it did go ahead. I nearly did the Puerto Benus to Ibiza one but pulled out at the last minute because a mate couldnt get it off work.

I cant find anything on the rib website you mentioned, did you mean rib.net

yeah not to sure on the past of it ill look it up and ask some questions as i know some organizers but this one is on all booked all details are on the site. just waiting till the day and hope for the weather also their were two last year but the uk one was not the greatest sucsess as weather conditions .but as for gumball of the sea its the closest thing so far ? (what i know of please correct !) only way to make it better is more entrants and more publisity i hope you all come and make it a huge sucsess

Yeah that would be the one.

Basically I think the story is two guys started it, one of them turn out to be a tw@t, the other guy bought him out or ased him to leave publicy, then the tw@t was being used as "a consultant" or something, which made some people suspisious. Basically who ever is running it now knew the guy before very well and is being tarred with the same brush, I would say I half feel sorry for the guy and half think he knew what was going on.

I am trying to find the other stuff at the mo.

oh right na dident know that part of the story but now the rallys are all up and running and so far has been sucsessfull i know duncan the guy who runs it now is very strait down the line guy a very sound bloke and now looking fawrd to the rally and i thought more boats going more the name will get about so better the jolly

yep it definatly happened - i know that for a fact! i was there.....

i love forums, you get theories like "when i was out driving last night i was doing 190mph in my focus and i saw a headless dog overtake me"

i have done a few of these rallies and can safely say that Duncan is a top guy, so whoever says otherwise clearly hasn't met him!!

Not a "theory" or a "unbelieveable story" it was years ago that there was a rally organised by two blokes, one of them had a dodgy past.

I found the thread, seems it is a very similar idea but different rally ( I couldn't remember the name of it, my mistake, although do remember the guy getting ripped).

It appears I know nothing about Blade run so I take back my comments earlier, but for a interesting read and someone getting caught have a peak.

I had a email off the guy who is running it and it is linked. The guy running it now says he has bought it off the guy who bought out the guy who was the dodgey one.
