Mundane question from someone who's always made do with a small backpack before - do those trolley cases you can buy as carry-on baggage fit inside overhead lockers on the likes of Easyjet et al or are they only stowable under the seats? The one I have is within the size limits at about 46cm high and 20cm deep.

Come to think of it, I'm not even sure if you're allowed to put stuff on the floor, but maybe one of you jetsetters can educate me.

Yes, the bins are quite big. You can have stuff on the floor provided it's under the seat in front, and you're not in an exit row (you pay for this on Easy I think)

If you're concerned then check in early, so you get on the plane early, and the other passengers haven't filled up the bins with duty free(ish) fags and booze by the time you get there.
