Shame it won't steam for the foreseeable future though.

There was initial concern that the casing would be outside of UK loading gauge but it has been 'massaged' where needed to conform.

So why won't it be in Steam ? or is that a separate issue .

Mainly because it needs a 600k (conservative estimate apparently) restoration to return it to steam, not a coat of paint and some steel sheets pinned to the side of it. It's owned by the National Railway Museum and they have other projects that are ahead of it in the queue for available money spent, including Flying Scotsman. In 7 years time, who knows, but it's got no chance in the immediate future.

Something looks wrong with the picture.

Is it just my eyes or do the numbers look wierd. Looks like a retouched photo to me.
