Can anyone help me with an answer?
I am looking to purchase a German-flagged motor yacht which is tax paid, can I re-register it under a UK flag without having to pay tax again, any help would be gratefully appreciated.

If the boat has been in the EU from new it should have a certificate of proof that VAT has been paid, along with other paperwork proving it has been built to required EU standards. If is was built outside the EU you must ensure that it has been imported correctly and all taxes paid.

Re registering it in the UK should be straightforward.
