Flying out to Guernsey on Wednesday & was just wondering what route the plane takes to Guernsey, the kids are asking what we are going to fly over, my response of "lot's of sea" didn't cut it.

Anybody know of an online "flight path directory"

Moose.

Assuming they remain on the airways, they'll climb out of Bristol heading to Exmore. Then south towards Exeter city, turning over Berry Head (Torbay) before crossing the channel straight to Guernsey smile

What's the flight number and the date? Moose seems to have it right, but I could try to double-check if you like.

Let me know your flight time and I can even tell you what will be happening in the sea areas you'll be crossing, should you be interested....

What sort of altitude do they fly at out of interest? It's an ATR72.

More likely that the flight will head out over Lyme Regis and across the Portland danger areas more or less straight down to Guernsey. Will rarely need to head out as far West as Torbay.

(Just checked with ATC here)

Looking at the sea area activity, you'll almost certainly head out over Lyme Bay, as the route will need to be well to the West of Lulworth as the Army are firing all day. The rest of the areas you'll cross are just booked out to RNAS Yeovilton for rotary wing flying - up to 3000ft, so you'll be well above that. Interestingly, later on in the day, Lyme Bay is booked out to the RAF Falcons parachute display team, then the Red Arrows.

AUR643 today was handed from Cardiff Radar to London Control at FL150 (~15,000ft) and wasn't climbed any further. I believe the level they had filed was 150. Its route was EXM N864 BHD (what Moose said, basically).
