Thought I saw some Rolls Royce markings but nothing with a model on. Anyone know what they are?

Looks kind of like an Avon, but minus the compressor.

They could be early Avons with the annular combustion cans, but it doesn't look quite right at the back end.
It probably is though.

Could be an industrial / marine version? that would explain the different back end.

Combustion chambers are more skewed on the Dart I think.

It looks like an Avon from a Comet.

Maybe.

They do get some RAF stuff coming through, so maybe Avons from the Canberra?

Could be an RAF C2 Comet engine.

Yep, not Avons. Found these images which are a bit clearer.

Odd looking thing, it has a centrifugal type combustion chamber arrangement with an axial flow compressor at the front

Early Mk's of Avons had annular combustion chambers.

The Derwents were a bit small and the again the back end is the wrong size and shape for it to be a Derwent.

This is an early Avon, the rear of the engine beyond the combustion chambers is different to the mystery engine.

Interesting, can't find any images of the early axial flow version though, I am not suggesting these are Derwents, just using the image to describe a centrifugal type layout

found one.....unlikely to be any of these lying around though wink
