Lovely pictures, I especially like the last one with the condensation trails from the rotors. Shame that crane is in the way!

Tell me about it. You're buggered as to where you can stand when they are doing their thing. Back deck is off limits in case of flying debris, etc.

That's really weird to watch - the frame rate makes the rotors go the wrong way for the vortices. Well captured (or is that 'caught'?).

used to get them all the time on our dive boat when we dive Weymouth / Portland. Also an excuse for the winchman to grab a few scollops when weve been diving

We were boarded whilst on a ferry to Belgium. I think it was the Belgium Coast Guard. Dropped a guy onto the rear of the ferry, who then did a lap of the ship, checked in with the captain, shook a few peoples hands, before being airlifted back off. Was quite a sight!
