here I am, sat in the garden, laptop on knee, headphones on and I hear this rumbling, I look up and see a rather large plane above. From the shape of the wings it looked like a Victor, it definitely looked rather like this from underneath;

I thought I might be mistaken but something else has just gone buzzing past rather low and fast. I'm in Blackpool, there's an airshow on tomorrow I think (better be tomorrow and not today), anyone got a ful list of what will be there?

They're not playing silly buggers at Bruntingthorpe again, are they?

"Sorry chaps, I thought we'd land as soon as we got out of ground effect. Anyone fancy a trip to Blackpool - where we can upstage the Vulcan?"

The shape of the wings led me to believe it wasn't a commercial jet

ETA: Lancaster Bomber just flown by now.

Flew over my house about an hour ago and headed off to the North - I guess it's displaying somewhere and will be back tomorrow

ETA Just had a Jet Provost go over too - two tone brown camo scheme

At some angles from a distance the Bae 146 can look a bit like a Victor. The last Victor flew (apart from the short distance at Bruntingthorpe this year) in 1993.

I haven't got a clue now what it was and my mind's playing tricks on me. I just looked up, saw whatever it was and ran inside to find some binoculars, by which time it was gone. Are the Nimrods still flying? Or could it have been that Stratotanker that's supposed to be appearing today?
