Overtaken by the Lancaster today!
Discussion
I was plodding along in the nightmare on a Friday afternoon that is the kent section of the M25 (anti-clockwise just past Clackett Lane services) when I got overtaken by the BBMF Lancaster just a few hundred feet above!! Seemed to be following the motorway before taking a sharp and low bank to the right heading south. Was a magnificent sight as always, but I was just a little suprised to see it in that particular area at that time (I'm aware it's Eastbourne Airshow this weekend). Anyone know it's particular movements for today, I wasn't a world away fromm Biggin Hill, I suppose.
Its capped off a good week of spots, as I'm from Shoreham-By-sea and for the past couple days The Blades display team and the Guinot bi-planes have been practicing out of Shoreham Airport, as well as the RAF Tutor display aircraft in preparation for Eastbourne. Roll on Shoreham's own airshow next weekend, which I can't wait to see!!

Their web site says it was due at Eastbourne today, Sat and Sun. Will hopefully see it this weekend at the Rougham airshow.

I intended to visit The RAF museum a couple of years ago in an outing organised by our dear contributer Ericmc but got the day wrong thinking it was a Sunday morning whereas it was the day before
.
Despite living locally, I went there today for the first time in around 10 years.
I had forgotten about the immaculate Lancaster preserved there and it really is a stunning sight to behold.
I love the (later) nose art on it: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2456/3729955889_5ec...
as this craft completed 137 missions against the enemy
