The Oculus (250ft) and Infinitas (300ft) mega-yacht designs by Schopfer. http://www.schopferyachts.com/

Some seriously organic designs being produced recently. Stunning.

that new bow shape is brilliant.
not only does it make the boat far more efficient than standard hulls and a lot more stable in rough seas.

cool, i wish cars and trucks and planes were more like this. Would make me feel more like living in the 21st century.

One thing though, they do look a quite a bit like a pair of trainers!

I'm more intrigued by the engineering behind it, looks a pain to design strengthwise!

Only the superstructure is a strange shape - the hull looks fairly easy to engineer, and a similar design has already been used on the megayacht 'A'. The superstructure won't need to be designed to take as much of a battering, but the curving shapes mean it should be less susceptible to wind than slab-sided yachts.

The big question though, is will they actually build any, so we can see pictures of a real yacht and not some CGI sales brochure?

I thought that, but since they are the only yacht designs they have on their books I would say they are going to be building a few. They are their products rather than just a design to show off.

That really is a step-change in design. I would love to see one in the flesh, though likely in a Bond film first... bounce

Thanks for posting them !!
