Great day out yesterday in Andover town as the RAF did their fairwell ceremony to the town.

Flypasts of a VC10, C130, Historic Heli's .. and Avro "Andover"

They had the usual display of weapons / WW2 bits and a number of cockpits all with working flashing buttons from the Historic collection at Boscombe down

I was wondering if RAF Fairwell was an RAF base I'd never heard of smile

Surely a Hawker Siddely Andover? The Avro Andover was a biplane

The Hawker Siddeley Andover was a development of the Hawker Siddeley HS748 airliner. The 748 began as an Avro project but was taken over by Hawker Siddeley when Avro were forced to merge into the Hawker Siddeley group in the early 1960s.
