UV sacrificial strip for headsail
Discussion
Hi all,
I need to get a new sacrificial strip sewn in to my roller furling head sail, and get both sails cleaned/laundered.
Any recommendations for sail makers?
Next time I go down to the boat, I think I'll just stand on the pontoon with £20 notes pinned to my jacket and let people just pick them off at random, and get the full 'boat ownership' experience....

Hello,
I was always under the impression that laundering sails knocked a bit of the life out of them, also (not wishing to tell you how to suck eggs) white strips last longer, reflect more light and are generally cheaper.
To answer your question though, I use Kemp sails in Wareham.
Thanks for that, I'll ask them about a white strip, which would look better too!I was always under the impression that laundering sails knocked a bit of the life out of them, also (not wishing to tell you how to suck eggs) white strips last longer, reflect more light and are generally cheaper.

Kemp Sails noted, but have just spotted the post below....

Where abouts is the boat?
Sanders Sails in Lymington are a pretty good outfit
She's in Bucklers Hard, so could actually motor over to Lymington in a couple of hours!Sanders Sails in Lymington are a pretty good outfit
I'll give them a call tomorrow, I actually have the sails here in Cheltenham so I guess I could courier them off to them, and collect next time we're down there.
I'll have to make sure I remember to pick them up before we go out though, we won't get far otherwise!
Thanks for the advice everybody!
