I have to collect a 14ft wooden boat today, and I have a transit flatbed tipper for my use, but I think the flatbed is only 10ft long, I have some trailers I can use although they are small and used for moving diggers etc so think its pointless. Any ideas? Its a 2hr drive btw

Strange question!

It's either gonna hang over the cab (avoid low bridges), or out the back, or you're going to need to hire a bigger truck or a car trailer or... something.

Stick it on sideways and put on warning triangles at the fore and aft of the boat? getmecoat

Maybe get in touch with a hire-firm about renting out a longer lorry ? But then you might need a HGV licence.

Or maybe borrow a boat trailer? Many are very versatile and fit a lot of boats. I really wouldn't stick it on a flatbed truck unless you have proper supports.

I would of thought you can surely fit a 14ft wooden boat in a 10ft tipper - upside down, transom first and a bit of clever strapping ?
So would I. Well thats how I would do it, hang the bow out the back of the tipper, or if possible remove the end plate of the tipper body so the boat can just lie flat, but that will make it harder to stop it sliding out the back!
