Train timetables for non commuter trains
Discussion
I am potentially looking at buying a house that is in close proximity to a train line. I am reasonably confident that I can test whether I can live with the noise of commuter trains by sitting in the garden while one goes past, and these will become more infrequent at night. However, I am less sure how I can find out about freight trains that may rumble past in the early hours, inducing a 7Hz resonant frequency in my bowels causing them to evacuate involutarily. Is there any website where I can find information on this (freight train timetable, bot bowel control")?
You soon get used to them. My Great-Grandmother used to live in a Crossing Keepers Cottage, (my great-grand-dad was the crossing keeper), and I spent many a happy hour in their front room, about ten feet from the tracks. Apart from the odd express that arrived without much noise and shook the place, we just looked at the clock to check the trains time and went back to watching the tv.
Hot, still summer nights are the worst, when you can't get to sleep and you can still hear the train that just went past minutes later!
I've also lived under the flightpath for the EMA, again, hot summer nights were the worst.
