They already are. 12 Squadron are currently deployed in Kandahar. The increased flying is simply because the base has managed to get more jets working under a very limited budget, and it's also the begining of the night flying season.

Exactly that. Can't usually fly past midnight because its antisocial, and in the summer months it tends to stay light until around 11, which is great for BBQs
