If its been used to train mechanics and it still has its engine in one piece it should be fresh enough and just need a run through to make sure everything is working/tighten up/prepare for AA test. I would imagine its not easy to find a jet that can be flown with a private licence.
(I know nothing about planes but like the idea of having one lol)

It's a BAC Jet Provost T5
Actually it's a T Mk 5A - as evidenced by the lack of tip tanks and the fact it is fitted with both VOR as well as DME.The T Mk 5s had the tanks and no VOR.

In fact, I'm impressed.
At least I didn't think it was a Strikemaster.

Id have thought it would need a C/D check (iv just started in commercial so I'm not sure about private)not sure how long it would take on a 2 seater but its 3 months on an A300 (24 hours a day 5 days a week and lots of people), and thats on a plane that can still fly so you'd need a lot of cash to get this going lol(I know nothing about planes but like the idea of having one lol)
however it could be good for something like this
