But I thought heli-skiing was banned in France? Did he touch down on the Italian side?

Yes, pick up at La Rosiere and dropped just over the Italian border, ski back into France. The video was actually from the second drop of the day, so not sure where we were.

When you consider the amount of essential work helicopters do in the mountains it would be a shame if the modest number of heli-skiing flights were to be ended because of a few eco-mentalists.

These flights provide valuable income that often subsidises other important duties.
