Any canal boat regulars on here?

I'm going to do the Four Counties Ring with a few friends next month, has here anybody done it, and can anyone recommend places to stop or avoid?

It's going to be our 3rd trip in as many years, but as we always go somewhere different it could be good to have some pointers!
