Just searched the local news and it appear to have come down on, or near, Emirates Road which is one of the busiest freeways. It is a bypass road that skirts to the East of Dubai and goes towards the Northern Emirates.
Khaleej Times is saying that cars are on fire and the crew are dead.
Very sketchy at the moment.

I doubt this is going to be a nice story going from first hand reports on other sites.............
Probably not - also, as I'm actually in Dubai, outside news sources will probably have more immediate info as it comes to light. They tend to like to keep these things under wraps until they have a specific 'something' to blame.
Seems (from the rumour mill) that the problems developed some 100 miles our so out from Dubai, they tried to get back but reports of them being unable to use the cockpit instruments and relying on relayed reports of position, height, speed etc. Came in too hot, dumping fuel, basically missed first approach/airport then tried to get to the military field.
Terribly sad. RIP.
