Newbie to motor/power boats

I'm looking to buy a day boat of some sort to use (mostly) in the Scilly Isles. After looking on various sites such as Apolloduck, it seems that a boat with a cuddy cabin or a bowrider will fit the bill. I have a budget of around £5k, so am looking at 2nd hand. Other than that, I really don't know what I'm looking at.
I have Level 3 RYA powerboating, but this was all for safety boats on inland lakes. I also have my Dayskipper certificate and have windsurfed for many years so know about tides/seastate etc. I just have no idea about what to look for in a boat!
I'll also be looking to keep the boat stored in Scilly, as I don't really fancy taking a small boat over to Scilly each time I visit.
Any help/advice/tips would be gratefully received

But may be open to the idea of a RIB if I can find anything decent. Budget is now up to £6-7K.
Apart from Apolloduck, Boatshop24, Boatmart and Boats and Outboards, anywhere else I should be looking? There doesn't seem to be a lot of movement at the moment - same boats for weeks.

Have a look on rib.net - great bunch on there, some for sale too. They seem to rate the Avon Searider 5.4, 5-6k for a decent one with 2stroke o/b and a trailer. Flooding hull for stability at rest at sea is a great feature - but you can block this off if you prefer dry.
Personally, if looking at trailable boats, the only reason I wouldn't buy a rib is if I needed some accomodation onboard.

I ignored the budget, always do! A scruffy but generally useable Huntress could be sub £10k I'd have thought.
I had one before I bought the Huntsman 28, great boat the Huntress.

Had an offer a couple of years ago to buy Broad Jumper / Claudia 2 / Twelvebore for no more than the cost of a few pints and kicking myself that I never did it!

The Christina's are lovely old boats, of course they sahre DNA with the Huntress althought they did drfit further apart as the years went buy.
Wood boats are not everyones cup of tea, particularly given the GRP option, but I would be without mine.
She was a Formula 27 and held the accolade of being the first boat that a certain Don Aronow raced here. The hull was as she was raced but had the deck replaced with a nasty bit of cabin. COPOC picked up on it and she was shipped off to the states for restoration.
And yes wooden boats lovely but I would only ever do one with a history behind it and a solid build such as the Faireys otherwise too much work for the return I would think.

I tend now to think I am the custodian of her. Had her nearly ten years and just starting the second quite major refit.
