Two synchronized angles rotors and no tail rotors..sorry if its a repost. Very strange beast.

Looks like an optical illusion, doesn't it?

The Germans had them in small numbers in WW2. I guess it's a fairly sensible way of building a small helicopter without a tail rotor, it gets round the tricky contra-rotating hub needed for stacking the rotors, while having it almost as compact as a conventional helicopter.

the ka-25 is co-axial. I really wonder what the flight dynamics are like on a Synchropter. I bet they can't handle as much stress as a co-axial.
