Driving down the M74 south bound the other day, in dreamworld watching the road and listening to some nice tunes. Next thing there is an almighty boom my Rangie literally shook and what looked liked less than 100ft above the ground appears a Tornado fallowing the exact line of the motorway. What kind of fking major league complete prick of an idiot does st like that. It was a busy motorway, this was so fking dangerous, I was literally shaking with fright and was tempted to dial 999 to report it.

If I had been pulling out to overtake I would really have thought I had just hit someone and could have easily lost control with a reflex reaction to pull back in. I know these guys have got to practice but this was nothing more than showboating and the fact the car shook with the downdraft indicates that it was obviously way below the legal ceiling even for these guys.

Not a great rant, just had to vent my pissed off-niss

I have had something similar happen with a Sepecat Jaguar. Thought it was pretty cool and impressive myself.

I remember as a kid, being stalked and divebombed 4 or 5 times by an A10 over the North Yorks moors (around 1990ish) in my Grandad's white Peugeot. We obviously stuck out like a sore thumb on the the green landscape, and the pilot fancied some target practice.

We waved out the window at him, and got a wing waggle as he shot off.

Happy days! smile

You should be posting about how you wish you could be the pilot not complaining! That's awesome!

Copy and paste that. Then fast forward to around 7.10. Should answer your question.

must agree, sounds very cool.

I think the person at the end of the 999 would have a laugh if they got a call due to this

I think that's what they do, sure he done the same to us, practising hitting a small moving target.

I wonder if they fly at you shouting DAGGA DAGGA DAGGA as he's pretending to shoot you? hehe

You were lucky!

About 15 years ago when the M74 was still an A road,I was part of a team doing a survey in the area that is now jct15.One morning we were crossing the road and had just got to the central res.when there was an almighty roar from behind us.Que myself and another guy diving for the deck because we had both seen an abnormal load coming towards us and both assumed that it had come of the trailer and was bouncing down the road but we were wrong.

We looked up to see a pair of Tornado's heading off into the distance at what looked like 10ft off the floor and our colleagues in fits of laughter on the other side of the road.

Applecross is a fantastic bit of road! Especially with caravans being banned on it!

I would have loved to have seen that! However if you had called 999 it could have made an interesting clip on "Police Interceptors" or some similar programme...

driving -> eek -> furious -> cop -> rofl

Reminds me of when we were driving through europe (Switzerland I believe) in a valley with reasonably high cliffs about on either side of the road, I'd expect a few hundred meters away from the road it's self.

all of a sudden there was a loud rumble, first through were that there was some sort of land slide and then was over taken by some sort of fast jet taking off on a runway which ran parallel to the road, absolutely st myself when I first heard it.

I would if I was a pilot and anyone who says they wouldn't is a liar or a ghey.
