What Do You Think These Were?

It's probably an impossible one to answer but for the last two nights at about 7.00PM I've seen four fighter aircraft in a sort of parallelogram formation cruising over Shropshire sounding very nice indeed. They displayed red lights beneath and I'd say they were at 15-20,000 feet flying at 250-300mph, they were heading East which makes me think they may have come from RAF Valley.

Any thoughts?

USAFE F-15 Eagles out of Lakenheath. They've been dogfighting every evening this week in the North Wales MTA and head back to Lakenheath in Suffolk along the lichfield corridor.

I heard them in Cambs about 18.30 yesterday, they do make a very distinctive noise and you can usually ID even in this bloody cloud! If you do get to see them at night they have a distictive light set up on the twin tail fins.
