I genuinely think it's brilliant. If I had 4k down the back of my sofa I would be on the phone now as well as ordering a leather helmet, flying goggles, and a traditional flying jacket.

620 Sqn used TF- which is apt as Eric is I believe a fan of Sterlings.

Bomber codes vaired in colour, black red or white.

If a fighter they would be in Sky.

There was one for sale on PH last year.

There were about a dozen cars painted up/wrapped as Smartfires and Messchersmarts as promotional tools, for a planned upcoming film based on the Battle of Britain.

Saw them at Fairford airshow and Damyns Hall Military show last year.

I bought a mug with a side profile of each of the cars on it

The TFH code is for Their Finest Hour, the title of the planned film. Not sure whether it is going ahead or not. The story was, the film was going to be made as a more accurate portrayal of the Battle of Britain, but when it was picked up by a Big American production, they wanted to make it more like a Hollywood blockbuster i.e love interests etc, I suppose a bit like Pearl Harbour. With the downturn in Filmmaking in Hollywood a number of planned films were canned and this was one of them. The team behind it went on the road last year with a travelling exhibition, promoting and raising awareness of the Battle of Britain, with an aim to get the film made, but as a more accurate portrayal than the planned Hollywood version.

Probably for the best. The idea of a CGI Spitfire skidding round an impossible turn at a scale speed of 40mph is too much to bear.

The codes should either be medium grey or sky. If the colours wars were to promote a Battle of Britain film then the camouflage and RAF roundels are also wrong. During the BoB RAF roundels had broader white segments to the roundel and a much thicker yellow outer ring.

Nice idea but badly executed.

There used to be a Cerbera in Aberdeen painted (or wrapped?) in olive drab with RAF roundels on the doors. I had a pic on my old phone, will try to find it. It was a lovely thing.

Olive Drab was an American colour - although US built aircraft operated by the RAF often retained the original American camouflage colours (C-47 Dakotas, B-28 Marauders, B-25 Mitchells etc).

Meh, old hat This might be a good edition to my fleet though, as the covert city car perhaps!
