Interesting video, surprised that there were no injuries on the smaller plane, the rotational force at the front must have been quite high.

The tail fin of that commuter jet must be well screwed on - surprised it was strong enough to turn the whole aircraft so sharply without being ripped off first!

Would be interesting to see the final repair bill for both aircraft. Presumably Air France's insurers will have to pick it up, there goes their no claims

I thought that too - the nose goes absolutely flying. Really surprise there was no one killed.

Air France have had quite a few accidents of late - Concorde in 2003, an A340 overunning the runway in Canada. Another A340 in the drink. Now this.

I reckon their NCB has been hammered already.

It's astounding reading the discussion on pprune how many people are of the view that the only factor in this was the a380s captain's observation.

It also amazed me how the aircraft doesn't have proximity sensors at the wingtips, or laser rangefinders that would alert of a problem.

I've suffered at the hands of AF myself. Parked up in Orly years ago in a Citation (small bizjet), quietly minding my own business, when the pilot of an Air France Tristar decided to assist his turn into a bay on the opposite side of the taxiway with a handful of throttle. Why he did it I've no idea, he was already moving at Ryanair taxi speed. The jetblast snapped the main door mechanism.

In the ensuing flurry of officialdom the AF captain declined (refused) to attend the scene as he was "too busy". Arrogant tt.
