Must admit I prefer the Garmin stuff but it's more about what you get used to.
Have a look at the 750s which is a nifty bit of kit with touchscreen and really fast screen redraws.
Check chart availability for the model you get. Most plotters come with a worldwide basemap which is really helpful for identifying which continent you are on and little else.
Some will come bundled with local charts already installed as part of a deal but that doesn't help you unless you are buying it there. Be warned the charts can add £200 to the deal and are of varying quality. Garmin bluechart 2 for instance has satellite photography overlays and is twice the price of a standard bluechart.
Then think about transponders. If you want water temperature and water speed etc then you will need a through hull or transom hung transponder. These tend to get hit / furred up etc whereas an in hull solution is safer but won't work on a cored hull. Not sure what your Formula is other than not a fAStech hull!

Also check whether the set is dual frequency and if so get a correct transponder for it. Useful to have the dual frequency as what you can't see with one you can usually see with the other and you also get resolution to a greater depth.

Does this mean you are close to bunging the engine in?I was tempted to get the 750 as a repeater / second screen for the 5008 but turns out it won't share the map data with another plotter. Means it's only networkable as a standalone unit in my book which is a shame. Lovely size for a dashboard.
