I love home-made bread, but hate the mess (can't stand flour everywhere). So I decided to get a breadmaker. Went for the Panasonic SD-256WXC which seems to be highly recommended. I would have gone for the next model up, but couldn't find one in stock locally (and it only has a couple of extra features which I can manage without).

Looking forward to having the smell of fresh bread in the morning! Also planning to make my own pizza bases, rolls, baguettes etc. at some point.

So, anyone got any good recipes? biggrin

I love ours, it's so easy to use and it's great to get up on a weekend to the smell of fresh bread!

There is a good thread here with a few recipes for various things:

If/when we use packet mix I've found "Wrights" mixes to be very good, and if you keep an eye out in the supermarket they are quite often reduced. These are they:

Well, it works! First loaf made, using the Rapid method (2 hours). Beautiful and tasty!

Dear calibrax,

you won't ever buy a loaf from a shop again smile

For pizza dough I use the recipe in the Panasonic booklet supplied with the machine. Works for me. Tends to be quite deep but I likes 'em deep,

regards,
Jet

Try the standard recipe but with a half and half mix of strong white bread flour and rye flour then replace all the water with your preferred lager. Superb!
