I've heard the stories, but is it any good?

I'm in the smoke by myself and was looking for somewhere that doesn't make me feel like a saddo if I walk in alone!

If it ins't any cop, I'm open to suggestions in Z1 or 2, £30/head give or take. (Not Almeida, as I fancy a change).

its fking terrible, i have no idea why people go there.

on the flip side, for £30 a head go to Ba Shan or Red N Hot just around the corner and have some very very good chinese food.

The fried noodles are not that bad, and it is a giggle if nothing else. But overall the food isn't up to much.

It's basically the same nosh that you get from your cheap local takeaway but the prices are low and you are in the West End. Try paying with a credit card laugh

I normally eat at the Friendly Inn, the other end of Gerrard st (Face the NCP carpark and it's to your right).

Nice food, nice prices, lovely girls serving but with their big mum keeping an eye on things oh! and lots of Chinese eat there so that has to be a recommendation.

It's not as "good" as it used to be. Some of the service is quite polite now.

Go up east and hit Tayyabs just off Whitechapel in Bethnal Green - the lamb chops are awesome.

Failing that, there's a Peruvian restaurant called Tito's just by London Bridge Station. It's a bit cheap and cheerful, but the food's good. See if you can get someone to split a bottle of Inka Kola with you. It looks like piss but tastes a lot better. biggrin

Let's face it, you don't go to Wong Kei for the food.
