Yes, they will be crap but be assured, they will taste fantastic between two slices of bread after 10 pints.

^^^ this

We once (in student days) discovered frozen, microwaveable, doner kebabs. Whole thing: pitta, meat, salad, sauce - and about 1/4 of the price of those from the 'bab shop.
Thought we'd found the holy grail, we did.

ETA: now if they'd left the salad separate...

I think I remember those things, If I recall correctly the sauce was pretty good but that couldn't make up for the very serious shortfalls with the rest of the creation. Strangly, I don't remember them looking like they did on the packet.
McDonalds school of advertising I think.

Ahh yes, optimism. I still remember one fellow stating "if these are good, we'll need another freezer!".
Difficult to say which superior, these or the frozen McDonald's experiment.
Fortunately we had a very good 'bab shop - the phone number of which is still etched into my brain a decade and a half later.

snackin my yoof, we did the Peak Assualt challange... i did the menu and did donners on the side of a mountain.
I found some frozen donner meat that you fried, put in bread/salad/sauce supplied by your self..... got the sauce from our local van (Jodies in Hatfield in late 80's/ early 90's.... still the best sauce I've had)... I was hailed a god for this. Donners were King in 89
