I've just bought a Nespresso machine which I'm loving and is making some great coffee. It came with a load of sample capsules.

Like a numpty I didn't ask where to buy more capsules from when I bought the machine and I've now found out that you must buy them direct from Nespresso

Is there not a shop on the High Street I can pop in and buy some??

They do sell them on eBay but I'm not sure if I would trust that they are not fakes - does anyone have experience of this?

Any recommendations of which capsules to buy?

Great machine and great coffee. The Nespresso site is the easiest BUT you have to order in multiples of 50.

Also, dont bother paying the extra for the faster delivery as 9/10 times its next day anyway.

eBay and Amazon have them. Costco might do.

Unless Nespresso have changed their policy, you can generally only buy them from them. If Amazon and eBay are selling them then I suspect they are merely people reselling them.

There is a Nespresso shop on the road next to Harrods as well. They sometimes have specials in there that are not available online ..

Are there any unnofficial manufacturers of the capsules?
THey are irritatingly expensive and you have to register to the "nespresso club" or whatever the buggery that is.
What this entails is you getting hundreds of pounds woth of sales literature through the post from Nespresso and loads of telesales calls bizarrely.
It must cost them a fortune to keep bombarding me with them which explains the price.
Added to which it is totally unneccesary becasue Ill buy capsules when I need them, like anyone else.
In short I hugely resent paying double what I think they should be to cover the cost of them sales raping me. Its obscene.

Not that I am aware of. Unlike other systems (like Tassimo etc.), Nespresso seem pretty locked down on "compatible" capsules.

Pal? Have I meandered into Glasgow town centre on a Friday night? Are you going to punch me for describing 27p as expensive?
In my eyes it is expensive for a cup of second rate coffee that you make yourself.
Comparing it to the prices of a coffee shops with associated overheads is insane.

Its like saying "Overreaction of the week there, jimmy, have you seen how much the equivalent volume of diamonds would cost??????"

If paying 27p per capsules affords them the ability to plague me with £1 per week in binned sales literature then yes, its expensive.

Illy is £6.49 for 18 in Waitrose (38p) if you want decent coffee in a "portion".
Or you can pay about half that a shot if you buy the tin smile
