Ben and Jerry's cookie dough ice cream. I want to make the cookie dough. Tried a recipe online, but it's not the same.

Some like the brown and white sugar some just white, some just brown.

I know it has to be eggless, but it turned out slightly sickly. I could eat a whole tub of cookie dough if only it was right!

The recipe in the B&J book is:

1/2 cup butter at room temp
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup plus 2 tbs all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup semi sweet choc chips
1/2 cup coarsley chopped walnuts

beat the butter and both sugars until light and fluffly. Add in egg and vanilla and mix well.

Mix flour salt and soda in another bowl. Add dry ingredients to the batter and mix until blended. Still in choc chips and walnuts.

Nuts? I didn't think the cookie dough ice cream has nuts in it?
Also, as they aren't cooked, wouldn't that lead to raw egg?

I've tried this a couple of times and generally don't bother to bake the cookies, the dough is yummy enough!

I don't think it's quite right but that's what the book has in it.

I eat raw egg all the time and still here!!

I expect they use pasteurised egg powder, so no risk.
