Next month is going to be my 25th..
Being an ale drinker, as are a lot of my friends, i was wandering how much (as i can't find anywhere on the web) a keg is going to be?
I'm hoping it's nice weather & i'm thinking keg + BBQ etc.
I'm thinking along the lines of Doom Bar, does anyone have any expeirence of this?

Give Waverly TBS a call (not affiliated with them, just used to work for them) they happily supply proper kegs for private people and have a wide selection of real ales and breweries they can get some from for you.
They should come with spears and a tap and all you need otherwise is to get it about 24 hours before you need it so it has time to settle.

Cask of ale will be around £60-80. Trouble is with a proper 72 pint cask (not a keg!!!
) is you will need a tap, spiles, chocks etc to serve it. A local brewer will probaly lend you all the bits you need at no cost.
Your might consider instead a number of Polypins which are much easier. Most breweries will do them - only downside is that for 36 pints you'll normally pay £50-60, so per pint more than the cost of a cask.

If you're having a number of friends who will be happy to drink the same as you, a cask is definitely the better choice.

Just remember once it gets delivered that you leave it where you intend it to be on the night about 3 days before. Or you'll have paid £80 for a barrel of murky ale.
