Don't know why but fancy hot dogs tonight. Cannot travel so must be home made.
I have a waitrose and a tesco to buy ingredients.
We used to buy them from kiosks in the centre of birmingham and they were great. Probably not very hygienic but tasty all the same

I quite like a hot dog from time to time....not keen on the buns so I tend to go for a foot long in a crusty baguette, hollow it out, squeeze in the mustard and ketchup then insert then dog...damn got me wanting one now smile

I find it is the onions that make it for me together with the tomato sauce

any recommendations for the best brand of sausages (i know, i know, they're all lips and assholes anyway, but they are still damned tasty).

Rubbery Jonnies out of a tin I should think as thats the only real hot dog there is. If its just a sausage on a roll thats more a sausage sandwich.

Agreed.

If going for the proper article, I'd have a Herta.

If going for a sausage sandwich, I've been liking Porky Whites Surreys recently. Very nice sausage.

Bockwurst from Lidl/Aldi. The best hot dogs you can get. Proper German ones.
