The gf fancied pasties for dinner. So being a true gent, I found a recipe and have had a go at them.

Having announced they are in the oven and will be done in 50 mins she said did you use the peas and carrots from the fridge.

Erm....thanks Hairy Bikers but no mention of peas OR carrots. http://www.goodtoknow.co.uk/recipes/396158/Hairy-B...
Have I committed a pasty faux-pas?

Hmmm may have missed the swede as well. It's basically meat, potato, onions in some pastry. silly

^^^^^^That's four of your five major food groups right there. Have it with a beer and that's your five-a-day!

Although - I did do some peas in the end. But just as a side you understand.

Apparently if it has carrots it can't be called a Cornish Pasty even if it is made there. Just to confuse things even more the Cornish have swapped the terms 'Parsnip' and 'Turnip'.

Or summat. smile
