Few taste as good as homemade anyhow, making the dough/base is easy if you plan a bit ahead.

The only decent supermarket pizzas are the Chicago Town takeaway ones. The rest just taste like they've got a biscuit base. I much prefer making my own.

I'm not sure the original was that healthy in the first place but the end result certainly isn't biggrin The grated mozarella is 40%+ fat isn't it, to aid the melting?

Asda make your own pizza on a stone baked base gets my vote (2 for £4), I have found cooking them on a Pizza stone for 10 mins makes them just perfect, I have tried a Chicago town pizza the same way and it tastes like frozen dog ste!

yes Very much so, although given when the OP was made it's probably not something you'd start from scratch at that time. laugh

Don't knock them til you've tried them, the takeaway ones with the tomato sauce stuffed into the crusts are a filthy treat.

Best pizzas are the ones at a proper Italian Pizzeria, anything else is just not quite there, but damn good nonetheless.

£22 for a Dominoes delivery?
Did that include sides etc? The www shows it as £14 for a medium, plus £1.40 for an extra topping.

Papa johns is probably the best of the chains, worth trying if there's one near you.

Make pizza fairly regularly using supermarket bases (o/h gluten intolerant) and while mine are awesome, tending to be deep fill jobbies normally with some nice chargrilled peppers, artichokes, sun dried toms, and meat all from the deli counter you can't beat the bases on "proper" pizzas, which I'll sneak in when she's out occasionally wink

I did the same as the OP. I bought a massive meat feast pizza and added my own toppings to it.

It ended up being about 5 inches high, and a bit watery but cost about 12 pounds in all..
