I did a search but it came up with a be-heading..

So anyway, off there in a month for ten days and wondering if anyone can recommend any decent restaurants in Tenerife.

Interest in Tapas/Paella/Fondu/local grub etc

Thanks

I came back a week ago yesterday.
Only ate out once which was in Costa Adeje at Restaurant Sebastions.
I had fillet steak, canarian potatos and mixed veg which was quite nice.
I noticed they did serve Tapas also.
As Los Cristianos is a bit away you might want to go onto the Tenerife forum on Tripadvisor and alot of people would be more than willing to help out.

good luck you will struggle...

i found los cristianos pretty 'british' every place selling food was either full-english, chinese or curry.

walked along the coast line past playas d'americas to costa adeje and it all looked pretty much the same, just row after row of crappy food places with pictures of the chips, and those feet eating fish places..

in the end I was advised to take a taxi to a place called Adeje which is up in the hills about a 10-15 min drive from los cristianos, get them to take you to 'Otellos', they sell authentic pollo which is canary garlic chicken, served with canary potatoes and mojo sauce. very nice indeed and fantastic views up in the mountains. Remember to take your walking shoes as there is a amazing walk through the mountains (entrance next to the restaurant) - this was closed when I was there in May, but my mum and I managed to climb over the fence and it was well worth the effort.

There is another restaurant in Adeje called 'Oasis' which is very popular with locals, and Otello have a second restaurant in Costa Adeje which is about a 2-3hr walk from los cristianos

I found it very touristy by the beach with prices to match. the taxi to Adeje was about 10-15 euros but the food, cheaper prices and surroundings made it well worth it

Stand looking at the beach on the Paseo de Maritimo and walk to your left till you get to the new row of shops/restaurants. There's a very nice place but I can't for the love of God remember it's name.

I was there a few weeks ago. As has been said in the town is very touristy, not much in the way of local grub. You get constant hassle from the restaurant hustlers wherever you go.

That said though, we weren't disappointed with any of the places we picked at random. Ended up eating a lot of fillet steaks as they were so cheap. Sampled some of the more traditional Canarian food on the tours we did to La Gomera and Teide.

Went there myself about 2 weeks ago. Nice food and friendly service.

There are some nice restaurants next to the Bahia Del Duque hotel in Adeje. Get a taxi to the hotel then walk along the beachfront and you cant miss them (to the right of the hotel if you are looking at the sea.

if your at the market end of l/c i can recommend you a few.

last time i was there fados resteraunt on the paseo maritimo was good, and one on a corner neat the arona gran, that was called "charly", the food there was nice,
finally between the two on the seafront near a circular small sort of dry waterfall/ garden there was a nice one cant remember what its called though.
they always have live music out of the windows.

you should try and find the pensioners bar, that is dirt cheap to drink at,
if you walk from the arona gran with the sea on your right its down a little dirty passage that leads towards the princesa dacil, its run by an old dear called Theresa, its dirty and scruffy but its incredibly cheap,

if you want a really decent meal, i would recommend going along one of the three raised levels near where the church is at night, there are loads of nice places there to eat at night.
