just happened across this site:

http://www.spitfireale.co.uk/fun-stuff/your-ad-gal...

Some are quite funny.

Can the PH wit win them over? (perhaps it already has)

Spitfire's lovely.

I think most of those ads were for various sporting events and whatnot - there were some crackers over the years. The bouncing bomb/bottle top one was inspired.

ETA - hadn't looked at the site, I didn't realise there was a "make your own" section now. I suspect most of them won't match up to the originals

Wasn't one of them banned, downed more Fokkers than any other or similar?

If I recall, all of them were banned in case the Germans were offended. It's an internet only thing now. Shame

ETA: at least Sheapard Neame have kept them all on line

"No Fokker Comes Close" ?

Or possibly "Downed all over Kent, just like the Luftwaffe"

They did some good ones for the Ashes. Something like "We brew it. You serve it."

When Portsmouth played Wolfsburg in Germany in the UEFA cup, the group I went with took a load (hundreds!!) of the "more appropriate" beer mats with us - and left a stack in each bar we visted :-D

It was our contribution to improving ze German sense of humour!!!!!

You youngsters dont know you're born. When they first started making it, it was bottle conditionned. Its still one of my favourites, but not the same. Still, as one of those posters say, at the end of D-day
