Thai Fish Jelly

Been given a jar of Thai fish jelly. It has no instructions on it. Any ideas how do I use it? ie. does it just need a bit of heating? I've got fishcakes and rice tonight so hoping I can just use it like chilli sauce and pour it over the top.

Just plonked some on the top of the fishcake in the end, tasted alright [+]

is it like jellied nam pla (fish sauce?)

I guess so - consistency of...well, jelly. Label describes it as "a fusion of chilli garlic ginger and lemongrass".
