tequila - i finally understand
Discussion
tequila is a drink i usually avoid like the plague, grimacing each time some nobhead buys a round and i have to drink it, holding back the vom when it's really bad stuff. horrible drink, turns my stomach.
however, i seem to be amassing a booze cabinet lately that somewhat resembles a lushes war chest, so added a bottle of patron anejo to this at the weekend. i succumbed to to temptation earlier and tried a shot.
it's like night and day compared to everything i've ever had prevously, almost like a different drink. quite peppery on the foretaste and well rounded. no stomach turning at all, but very warming when it hits!
is there anything similar out there which is judged superior that i don't know about yet?

Tequila reposado. A step above anejo and awesome.
I was given cocktail lessons at Claridge's as a Christmas present.
"Ohhh, tequila. Ermmm, not sure."
However, an eye-opener since I was able to sample all the grades and types.
Try tequila in place of vodka in a Bloody Mary to make a Bloody Maria. Noms.

i'll give it a bash, cheers. strangely the patron reposado is cheaper than the anejo. what brand did you try?no reg, i choose not to use capitals - much like you choose to be a dick.
Hence the price difference.
However do try the Bloody Maria. Also the 'gimlet' of 3 parts tequila, 1 part lime juice.

oh yes indeed.Gran Patron Platinum around £200 a bottle, have had pleasure of tasting that.
There is another Gran Patron, but can't remember it's name .. in the region of £500 a bottle !

I think I may have got it the wrong way round - sorry! 'Reposado' = 'rested'; 'Anejo' = 'aged'.

oh good, i thought i'd overspent. will try the cocktails when i'm back from leave. i'm coming over to start riots in surrey next week Hence the price difference.

i would hope that my grammar and diction point to the contrary. i have no adequate explanation of why i don't use capitals, but won't be starting anytime soon [unless it's an OP in SP&L or J&E. or, as you can see, an abbreviation or acronym].
can we leave language pedantry in the lounge please? it is boorish and the equivalent of repeating OXO / MX5 / "it's welsh you 'tard" on every thread.

There's a pair of Hogarth prints in an antique shop in Dorking that I rather like the look of.

spent 4hrs on the bloody m25 earlier. if having to cope with that every day isn't enough to incite surrey to riot then nothing will.
Ah, but true Surrey-ites have the calming influence of gin/tea and cucumber sandwiches (crusts cut orf). Not to mention Nature, in all her well-manicured savagery.
