Slowly wandering through the ‘what are you drinking tonight’ thread it seems there are a few gin connoisseurs. Being pretty partial to a gin now and again, but not knowing a huge amount about them, it makes sense to me that we should have some recommendations for the gin and what to mix it with!

My current staple is whatever there is behind the bar in the local, either Gordon’s or Bombay Sapphire with some tonic and a squeeze of lime/lemon.

So gentlemen and ladies, hit me with your recommendations!

I have recently started enjoying Gin and at the moment in the house I have Plymouth, Edinburgh Gin and Darnley's View Gin. I am amazed and the difference the botanicals make!

I had a few g&ts last Saturday . With gordons and plenty of ice and lemon. I really enjoyed them, made a change from my usual lager or vodka.
Whilst I enjoyed the gordons should I try something else ?

I have tried quite a few of the fancier brands but always go back to Gordons, cant beat the taste - as for the lemon... tut tut, try it with lime so much nicer imo

No problem getting some limes smile
I used to have off licences and gordons was the biggest seller. Not always a good sign.
Right gordons it is this weekend

Only have a tesco metro or a waitrose locally. No car for at least another week.

Still I am a gin convert. Will try out a few as the opportunities present themselves
