Underestimated?

I thought I'd try one for a change and was pleasantly surprised.

Anyone have any recipes for a spicy bean burger?

These are fully veggie like the name implies?

Edit - it seems they are.

Found one recipe:

Dear All,

for veggies they're a good way of joining in with a barbecue. Thus one of Mrs Noise's preferred exterior-cooked bun fillings.
We've only had the ready made kind, never tried it ourselves.

I imagine getting them to stick together might be tricky,

regards,
Jet

I'm not suggesting they are a substitute for a good beef burger. If anything, I think this is an alternative option for a falafel wrap (as well as a burger if you really want to go that far)

Vegetarians' must love 'em, sure.

If you can't be bothered to make them from scratch Tescos sell them that are just like the ones in Burger King. They are nearly always sold out though!

Using similar ingredients to the recipe posted, my aunt makes these with the addition of grated dudhi (indian gourd like vegetable, available from indian grocers). She then deep fries them rather then grills, lovely!

One tip... Don't microwave them to reheat. It crumbled into a dry powder in my mouth :-(
