What's your budget and which hob will you be using them on?

What budget, we have Meyer stainless, and they are terrific. But there are much more expensive sets available which may probably better.

Ours were £150 in the sales.

Ah, sorry, will be used on a gas hob, and up to £150 if the set is *really* going to last the distance.

Use them myself, and really very good indeed. Can be used on induction if you changed hob in the future.

I'm with the above post - we initially bought Raymand Blanc Anolon pans - the coating lasted about 2 weeks and the pans were so lightweight (aluminium) they tipped over on a gas hob, and bent as soon as you looked at them.

Took them back to JL and exchanged (plus topup) for the Le Creuset ones and I love them. Great to cook on, feel great, and look great. And still look good as new smile

We managed to get pretty much the whole set of pans that Tesco where selling at 70% off if you collected the vouchers. Think they are Thompson or something like that.
Seem very good quality, currently use them on a gas hob but they also work on induction jobs which is handy as we will go down that route when we get our new kitchen.

Something to bear in mind. If you are considering changing to an induction hob make sure and get pans made from a ferrous metal.

If you will actually use all of the pans in the set then fine.

But I've found that the biggest pan never get used, along with the anachronistic milk pan. Who the feck boils milk these days?

I'd buy single pans of the size I am likely to use from a kitchen shop, and haggle with the manager.

As for make, I am a big fan of Circulon. The surface is superb, lasts forever, and cleans easily, as my 10 year old wok proves.

Lakeland have an offer on them at the moment too.

Another vote for circulon here. Extremely hard wearing and they've even survived my attempts to destroy them by boiling dry every so often paperbag

I've used them in the past, and they're good. My only reservation is that you can't put as much heat into them as a stainless or an SKK-type non-stick pan.

We use their Chef's pan and large frying pan, plus lid but they are quite expensive. See here:

I know nothing about pans. But we got a circulon set in the summer for ~£80 I think it was (again in a sale of some kind).

So far they seem very good. Taking the abuse we give them much better than previous random collection of Tescos/Sainsburys pans.

This is a good deal - you get the frying pan too, and in my experience, they are always returned, rather than used items: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B0038ONIH...

Same comments apply about this frying pan as Circulon though - a medium heat max. Ours couldnae take it and is seldom used now.

Be aware the pans are very heavy, especially when full. My elderly mother and puny girlfriend struggle to use them.

I'm powerfully built and have a goaty so I have no problem.
