I need a pepper mill for SWMBO for Christmas. Any recommendations for a nice, classy one that odviously works well. We dont have a rustic kitchen so it doesn't have to be traditional!

I'd take a look at the Peugeot range, ive had them for years, extremely well made and the grinding mechanism is top-notch and stays sharp for ever. Amazon have a good selection.

Motoring Related? You'd want a Peugeot Rubirosa peppermill.
50cm tall, and named becuase Porfirio Rubirosa, Latin playboy, polo champion and Ferrari Racing driver was rather well endowed.

"Peugeot Rubirosa 50cm Pepper Mill
The Peugeot 50cm Pepper Mill is the biggest proper pepper mill you can get. The style is the Peugeot Paris style, and it's in their classic chocolate colour. At this size it looks like a stairway banister. It's the one that waiters bring out in restaurants. It's excellent for outdoor dinners and barbeques and is a flattering male present for reasons to follow.

Peugeot invented the pepper mill, and their adjustable grind double action mechanism has remained virtually unchanged since 1840, and has a lifetime guarantee. The body is made from renewable French beech wood.

A Pepper Mill of this size is referred to in the famous Café de Flore Paris as a Rubirosa - in deference to Porfirio Rubirosa , the infamous latin playboy of the 1950s. He drove Formula 1 for Ferrari, was an international Polo champion, and was married five times. Oh, and his confirmed lovers included Eva Peron, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Christina Onassis, Rita Hayworth, Eartha Kitt, and Ava Gardner.

Ex-wife Doris Duke compared Rubirosa's endowment to a baseball bat. Envious novelist and uber society gossip Truman Capote concurred in print. Who wouldn't want a Peugeot Rubirosa ?"

Avoid the Salter motorised ones, kinda cool, and has a light so you can see where your grinds end up, but not put together well frown

I've a Peugeot mill that I've had for ages, but it has been getting more difficult to adjust it - perhaps it's worn out?

Just bought a T&G CrushGrind mill (the Apollo) from Amazon based on the reviews there - very impressed so far...
