No real help on the pot side of things, but could you not do 2 2 2 rather than all 6 in the same pot?

You will need a large catering size pan if you can only fit 2 in a 24cm wide casserole dish. You can get some quite cheap from Ikea or you can buy one from a catering supplier. I know Nisbets supply to the public and trade.

Your other option is to ask your local restaurant/pub if you can borrow a lage pan for the night. They most likely wont have lids for the pans but covering it with tin foil will work just as well.

i didnt cook it, it was the mrs but im sure she said we would have trouble doing anything larger in it as obviously the barly swells etc

maybe get away with a 28cm one i mean obviously it depends on the size of the shanks but i dont want to get to the day of cooking it to find they dont fit biggrin

its our first time cooking for guests in the new place smile

If you have a decent Indian supermarket they often have good sized pots such as these.
