Turkey for Christmas
Discussion
Hi all,
I know it's quite late but I need a turkey for Christmas. My mum has put me in charge of finding it. I am not averse to ordering online, and I can also go to a farm or whatever around the North Hampshire/Surrey area, or the Bath area. Any suggestions? Looking for an 8kg bird ideally.
Thanks in advance,
HH

You can order one from the likes of Sainsbury's.
Yes but is the quality up with that of a specialist supplier? One thing I do know is that many 'specialist suppliers' - butchers in particular - are buying product that has been rejected by supermarkets as poor quality / not complying with specification.
Read into that what you will, but I'm very wary of independent butchers unless I know their source.
Okay dreadfully sorry everyone, I thought as it was only about three weeks until Christmas, and this was a food forum, there would be some turkey providers of choice who would have only limited stock. Since people on here often talk about "you should get your sausages from here" or "your beef from here", I thought it might be the same for turkey.
Surrey... Either Etherley Farm on Leith Hill or Bramble Farm near Leatherhead.
