Lidl have stopped selling Rioja crianza :-(

This is not good for me as I really enjoyed it, and at £4.99 at an excellent price too!

I can't afford to start paying £10 a bottle for my Rioja craving/addiction/whatever.

Anyone know where you can buy a nice Rioja for £5-6?

Or an alternative I might like?

Campo Viejo 2008 rioja crianza is £5 a bottle in Asda at the moment.

Majestic will do you 12 bottles of Rioja Crianza 2008 Gran Vendema for £71.88.

That's £5.99 each, but they do have a minimum order of 12. Free delivery mind you.

You do not have to buy 12 any more , 6 is their minimum purchase.

Tesco have an instore 1/2 price offer on a nice £12 2004 Reserva. However buy online by the box and you get it for £4.62 which is almost giving it away.

Morrisons have a half price offer of £4.99 on 2006 Lagunilla Riserva at the moment, I tested a bottle over the weekend and it was very nice so have just been back for a case.

Bit of an update.

Tried Campo Viejo and liked it .

Spotted Marquis de Montino in Sainsbury's and decided to take a chance as it was a really good deal, £5.99 bottle but then 25% off per 6 bottles!

Bought 12 bottles but didn't like it .

Popped into Co-Op and tried the Marquis de Valido.

Oh my god! I love it! So oakey and smooth, just how I like my Rioja.

So, going to fill the car up with it tomorrow, at £5.49 a bottle it's more money, but well worth it imo .

Thanks for all the tips, if there's one thing I've learn't, online deals is where it's at .

I was happy enough with the Lidl Crianza (I liked it), but the Marquis de Valido knocks spots of it .

Thanks - I'll try that since that's how I like my rioja too.

Some hidden gems in Co-op: try their Fairtrade torrontes/chardonnay at £4.99. I can't believe how good this is for the money.

Ok so this Rioja is still on sale for £5.49 until 03/01/12.

Which means I'll be buying another 24 bottles tomorrow .
