Ice Cream Makers?

We have this one:

Seemed highly rated and we're pleased with it. Fantastic ice cream, but rarely makes it ready to eat though, usually put it in the freezer for an hour or two.

The Ben and Jerry's book in that link is well worth a fiver, some excellent recipies.http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cuisinart-ICE30-ice-cream-...

We have the cuisineart twin bowl which is great for entertaining as you can make two flavours or ice cream and sorbet.
Also (and the reason I bought it for the girlfriend) is her dairy intolerance, we use "the vegan scoop" recipe book using soy cream... about a 3rd of the calories but you wouldn't tell to eat it, tastes delicious

The important thing to remember when you use the type with the bowl you have to freeze first is that unless you leave the bowl in the freezer for long enough and/or you don't chill your custard down properly before churning then you won't end up with ice cream, which is very frustrating when you're looking forward to a sneaky spoonful or two before it goes in the freezer.
