Non-Christians: what's on your celebration meal table?
Discussion
Turkey, Ham, roast spuds, sprouts, the lot.
A Muslim co-worker was saying he looks forward to Christmas as many firms and schools etc close or give time off for the holiday and it means distant family and friends can get together for a meal. I would say Christmas can still be enjoyed even without the religious element.

Why not have a really traditional 'Christmas' dinner?
Turkeys are relatively modern in Britain. We normally have Duck or Goose with bread sauce, roast veg etc. MUCH much nicer than turkey....
Sprouts and leeks dobne together in a white wine cream sauce are delicious and different.
Good luck

muslim friends of mine tend to have a family meal on the day off, but it will be Asian food like a lamb curry.
That's what I was getting at - ideas / recipes for a celebration curry feast.
ks' sense.
I'm in the latter category and will be having goose but will start with a shellfish course just to annoy god.

Leviticus 11-10.

That's what I was getting at - ideas / recipes for a celebration curry feast. One feast food that is amazing, but takes ages, is Haleem. Sort of a slow cooked barley and mutton soup.

Most muslims I know look forward to Turkey at Christmas as much as anyone, but might be worth having a nose about for what they do at Eid. I think "Big Eid" was yesterday ?

We tend to just have a roast chicken dinner and then its some trifle and the queens speech.
