Anyone else going to Braai/BBQ this Christmas?

We did last year and it was a great success.
This year we are doing beer can chicken, beer can duck, beer can goose (if I can get it cheap enough.
I'll also try smaller cans to ram up a Qual, partridge and any other bird I can get hold of.
Oh and we will be smoking a ham for a few hours.

It will be a very small can indeed to ram up a quail or partridge!
I think these are best spatchcocked: snip out the backbone either side with kitchen scissors, lay the carcass on a worktop breast side up and flatten it with your hand.
Then marinate (or not) and thread crosswise onto metal skewers, piercing the thigh joint and breast for even heat distribution.
I've BBQ'd in the snow before now - something we Brits don't do enough of, imho:
