We tried the black forest buche (whatever a buche is; never heard of it before) last night and that was rather lovely as well. Although it should have been, it was £13.
A buche (de noel) is generally a sponge cake made to look like a christmas log. They're served regularly in France for Christmas Eve/Day Dinner in place of our Christmas Pudding/Cake.Edited by escargot on Wednesday 21st December 14:03

Seems to be quite a few for around 15 quid BIN on the bay.
Who on earth is paying hundreds?
A company performing the marketing for Waitrose taking the piss out of lazy media.Who on earth is paying hundreds?
Highly successful too - the Sunday Times ran an article on it on their front page, along with the line "oh, but we'll have 75,000 in the stores from tomorrow"
Brilliant
